New Magpies Nest Room

 

We are embarking on an exciting journey to honour our proud history and strengthen our future. Our club will soon build The Magpies Nest — a dedicated space at the heart of our home that celebrates the people, stories, and achievements that have shaped the Glenorchy District Football Club since the 1880s.

As one of the oldest Australian Rules Football clubs in the country, our legacy is rich, deep, and worth celebrating. It is time for our members, supporters, and community to reconnect with our remarkable heritage — the champions who came before us, the players who represent us today, and the next generation rising through our junior ranks.

Positioned in the foyer at our main entrance, The Magpies Nest will be a physical and cultural centrepiece of the club. It will showcase historic moments, honour our legends, and reflect the resilience, spirit, and unity that have defined Glenorchy for more than a century.

The space will feature a club museum-style display, a merchandise area, and in time, a fully staffed reception hub. The Magpies Nest will stand as a proud and permanent tribute to our identity, our past, present, and future and a welcoming place for everyone who calls the black and white home.
